Scouting For Food

As Scouts, we know how fortunate we are to have a warm meal every night — whether around the campfire or at the kitchen table. However, we also know that not everyone is so lucky. Scouting for Food is a food-collection drive where Scouts get out into their community and collect food items to be delivered to families in need. It is another reminder to our local communities that Scouts are here, doing good turns.

Event Information:

Between February 8, 2025, and February 15, 2025, Scouts will conduct community drives. These drives can be supported by local businesses, religious institutions, Chartered Organizations, and neighborhood drives etc. How do I initiate a drive?

· Community / neighborhood Facebook pages – Post drive with details

· Partner with a local business – decorate a wishing box / store front

· Asking your Chartered Organization to support a drive with you

· Request local religious institutions to help support a drive with you

· Creating a collection drive at any of your unit events

On February 15, 2025, Scouts will revisit those partners to pick up bags full of canned food, cereal, pasta, peanut butter, juice and other nonperishable items. The food is then delivered to food banks across the districts. If your unit does not have a food bank to distribute the food, please contact your district lead for food bank options in your area. What if I can’t complete by the dates?

· No problem, dates are flexible
